MEET MRS. HARRISON-SCHOOL COUNSELOR

As a part of the Anchorage School District, Professional School Counseling Department, it is our mission to provide a comprehensive school counseling program for all students that addresses the academic, social, and emotional development as well as prepare students for success in life. Professional School Counselors advocate for students, collaborate with fellow educators, and partner with parents and the community.

My vision is to provide an all-inclusive, progressive counseling program that addresses all students' emotional, social, and academic needs. I carry out this vision by providing customized support and advocacy of student's educational, social, and individual needs. Students are encouraged and inspired to acquire the skills, knowledge, and beliefs that will lead to their lifelong success as positive contributing members of their communities and excellent stewards of their personal potential.

I love to hike and cross country ski and as a dog lover, I enjoy bringing my dogs on these adventures! In the winter I like to go snowmachining with my family and in the summer you can find me spending time at our cabin on a lake. Basically, ask me to do anything outdoors and I am in!  I have spent a lot of years in the field of education and there is no doubt after all this time that I am PASSIONATE about working with students, helping them reach goals and find out who they are meant to be. This passion for others also extends to all people. I have traveled the world, including third world countries to build, teach and serve people in different ways. I love people, laughing, campfires, and am willing to try just about anything. A good healthy dose of adrenaline or make it competitive and I’m in!
